I'm heading the COMMUNITY program of the Education Department of Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, which involves a specific agenda for the constituencies of the Museum, especially Youth, Families and Older Adults. Our program is renewing the perspectives of the Education Department of the Museum and it's led by two core ideas: 1) Museo de Los Vínculos, creating strategies where people feel engaged enough with the institution to develop a different relationship in terms of temporality, inhabiting the Museum with a sense of co-ownership instead of a user or customer position. And 2) the idea of a Museo Situado, addressing the project of a situated museum in a neighborhood like Lavapies, where multiculturality and diversity are living together with strong processes of gentrification and touristification.
